Exciting news in the Fight for $15: Governor Cuomo recently launched a new Wage Board with the power to raise wages for every fast food worker to $15 an hour. But that will only happen if we speak up and make sure the Wage Board gets the message.
The Wage Board, chaired by Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, will hold its first meeting on Wednesday, May 20th at 290 Main Street in Buffalo. Make sure they hear your voice in demanding a livable wage for fast food workers. Join the Coalition for Economic Justice, fast food workers, and labor, community, and faith leaders for a rally to hold the Wage Board accountable and demand $15 on May 20th at 9:30 AM in front of 290 Main Street.
The Wage Board will also hold a public hearing on June 5th in Buffalo. Save the date and stay tuned for more information. The public will have the opportunity to give testimony at this hearing.
