WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

CEJ’s Workforce Development team works to place participants in living wage jobs. Initially these jobs were centered in healthcare, but now also include opportunities in trade unions and transportation.

 

The goal of our workforce development team is to find placement for these individuals after they’ve completed the program and have gained the skills needed to work in the marketplace. We concentrate our efforts on recruiting residents of Buffalo’s east side as these individuals have historically been denied access to living wage jobs.

 

CEJ is looking to increase participation in communities that have been denied this access in order to amplify their engagement with the marketplace. One of our current projects aims to help decarbonize east side residents’ homes. To expand this decarbonization effort, our workforce development team collaborates with a coalition of agencies throughout the state to help fund housing improvements for residents.
